Ponder Magazine was a dream made into reality by a couple of colleagues and I during my sophomore year of undergrad at Black Hills State University. I led our writing and photography team, ensuring the highest quality of raw journalism and storytelling visuals. Ponder sheds light on the people in the Midwest who wouldn’t normally be seen. It features the artists, chefs, athletes and more who’s dedication sets them apart from the rest. In one calendar year under my leadership, Ponder won 29 national and regional awards, including a national gold ADDY, the CMA Apple Award for Best Magazine, and the coveted ACP Pacemaker. Ponder is the first magazine in South Dakota to do so.
